Today I'm going to VANN Spa and Hotel in Bohuslän on the Swedish westcoast to shoot some images and just relax. You could call it my first vaccation for a long time....

[ 2009..11..10 ]

What a life. Things have been a bit strange the last weeks. Have been sick for over two weeks and today I were able to do some training again. Phuuu, it was hard, HARD. Sickness and some personal issues is not a good combination. Anyway, today I were able to get going on a thing that I have been thinking about since 2007. I have started a page on facebook! I know, a bit late, a bit last year. Anyway you will find me [ here ].

[ 2009..10..16]

What a friday! I'm going to be DJing at Stearin Lounge, Restaurant and Bar today. Sweet, deep house music. And, yesterday I got some copies of my first book - "Fiske I Norden" (Fishing the Nordic countries). It is now available in Swedish, Danish, Norweigen and Finish. You will find it in all the major bookstores and on-line. I would also like to take the oppurtunity to thank all the people that has made this book possible. You know who you are :-). Thank you all and see you out there!

[ 2009..10..14 ]

As winter is getting closer, my creative side has gotten a turn. But, there is still alot of work that has to be finished for several clients and magazines. And, despite cold days and long nights, positive things happens! For the second time I have an image on the startpage of NordicPhotos website. They select a few shots that represent the agency and this is actually my second one. And if you think about it and also include the fact that I have not been a member at NordicPhotos for a year yet and they have almost 600 photographers signed up, it shows that I'm at least doing one thing right.

[ 2009..10..01 ]

Back from two days in Malmo, Sweden. Sometimes the creative side just seems to have gone straight to hell. Walked the streets of the city, went down to the coast, had a nice dinner in the hip area of "Mollan", but I were only able to get a handful images. Why? Well, if I knew the answer to that one, there would not have been any problems. Sometimes I just want to close the door and not go out for a year of two.....

[ 2009..09..28 ]

New stock images at NordicPhotos. On the 30th of September it is time to go down to Malmo in the south of Sweden to shoot some photos for NordicPhotos. You will find Niclas stock at NordicPhotos via this [ link ].

I'm doing an article for a Swedish magazine together with freelance photojournalist, fishing guide and my good friend Henrik Larsson. We are doing a test of six different waterproof compact cameras. The question here is if we will be able to take as good images with this type of camera as we can with our PRO DSLRs? Well, take a look at the image of Henrik holding a nice searun browntrout from the westcoast. The photo was taken with one of the cameras in the test and with very little work this images will make it to the cover of the magazine. We will make one more round with the cameras and fill them all up with new images during next week. And remember, the image of Henrik is just straight out from the camera, no work in PS has been done here. I like it, do you?

[ 2009..09..23 ]

Just uploaded images to NordicPhotos, including photos from Way Out West festival. The images will be ready for buyers within this week.

[ 2009..09..20 ]

Have had just to much work and social activities the last couple of days. Today I had a session with another music group. We shot both outdoors and indoors. Got some good images and the band was happy with the session. I used the new Elinchrome Quadra flashes and I must say that they are just fantastic! So easy to use, portable and powerful for there size. I have been booked for a job in Norway in October to do some mountainbike images and I am already looking forward to rig the flashes and try them on there first actionsport job.

[ 2009..09..09 ]

Back from Belize and the last shoot on my upcoming DVD together with Thomas Sorbirk from GetAway Tours. We got all we wanted and more, alot more. We can already say that the images we have got on tape as never before been shoot by anyone in Europe. The bad part is that I got sick, really sick during the flight home from Belize. As we were about to transit in Miami, USA, I felt down to the ground and from that point it has been a struggle to keep any food or water. Better today and I have been able to eat again.

[ 2009..08..25 ]

Working hard, to hard. Just have to learn that it is ok to say NO to some projects. Of to Belize in two days to shoot the last on the film that I'm working on together with GetAway Tours and Thomas Sörbrink.

[ 2009..08..15 ]

Way Out West festival in Gothenburg, Sweden, day two. Rain and mud. Hey, it's a festival right? Got some sweet images from the photoditch during Wolfmother. Just alot of energy on stage. I also got some funny and good images covering "all the things around", such as the crowd and a man making hotdogs with a gasmask? I did not try them.... Images from the festival will be up on NordicPhotos within a couple of days and also a gallery on this site.

[ 2009..08..14 ]

Way Out West festival in Gothenburg, Sweden, day one. As one of the photographers on the WoW festival this year and new to this kind of photography, I have had a long day. I photographed Robyn, Röyksopp, Fever Ray and more this first day. And not only did I learn that you need to be quick in order to get that perfect image, you will also need the skill of "fighting" with other photographers. During Antony and the Johnsons they had a limit of 15 photographers in the ditch. Guess what? About 35 or so turned up. Sharp elbows and good use of the time spent at the gym, got me in, but i felt terrible afterwards almost knocking a person down. Tomorrow, on the 15th, I will visit the last day of the WoW festival. There will be a gallery from the event on the start page of niclasandersson.com / flyfishphoto.com within a day or so.

[ 2009..08..10 ]

There is a new page on flyfishphoto.com. Now you can watch the images from all the latest trips by hitting the "New Images" button up in the menu. Go directly to the page [ here ]

Back from Norway and the Fiord of Oslo after two days flyfishing for seabass. Our group of four guests landed and released fourteen seabass, some makrell and one seatrout. My boat landed eight sebass, including the largest of 2,6kg, and I even got a "grandslam" the last day with sebass, makrell and seatrout! Fantastic guides, food, service and fellow flyfishers. Many thanks to EL-GE Sportfiske for the trip! Do you also want to try the best flyfishing in Scandinavia? Go to www.el-ge.se to find out more! I have already decided to go back soon, really soon.....

[ 2009..08..04 ]

Today I were out shooting a rockband from Gothenburg, Sweden. There will be another session later on this year. It was the first work I did with my new Elinchrome Quadra Flash system, and yes, it was working great!

[ 2009..08..03 ]

I have had a hard time the last days due to private things. Feel kind of low right now. But the smile on my face is slowly returning as I'm gearing up for a trip to the fiord of Oslo, Norway, to photograph sebass. Also preparing to shoot some more film in Belize with Thomas Sorbrink from GetAway Tours at the end of August.

The last couple of days I have been down to the south of Sweden. As always I have had my camera with me shooting for NordicPhotos. It has also been a time of brainstorming and being creative, but, unable to make all the ideas a reality is hitting my mental side. Right now I have my brain spinning on full power about a book idea. Let's just say that it is a photographic journey about the faces of fly fishing.

Tonight I'm of to play records at Stearin in Gothenburg, and tomorrow morning it is of for a week of fly fishing in the wilderness areas of norhtern Sweden. it seems impossible to organize any gear right now. [ 2009..06..06 ]

Back from a week of fly fishing in the south of Sweden. We visited several small streams and caught a few nice brown trouts on dries. However, as always, the big one got a way. Kalle Reichenberg hooked a huge brown trout on a dry fly. He had it on for a minute or two before it finally got stocked under a tree that had fallen into the river - Game Over! We estimated the fish to about 3,5 kg, and that is no fishermans story. An article about this trip will be published in the Swedish fly fishing magazine "Allt Om Flugfiske".

[ 2009..05..29 ]

The fly fishing season is kicking of and now it is time to pack camera gear, flyrods, reels, flies, waders, tent and plenty of other gear. First of is a week of fishing in the south of Sweden. The aim is several small trout streams and at least two are articles pre-booked from this trip. This time I will be travelling with my good old friend Kalle Reichenberg. We will hit the road in three days, so there will not be anymore update on the news page for a week.

Breakfast at "The French Bakery" in Gothenburg around 06:00. Half asleep me, Mats Christensén and Jon Lindgren loaded a car with flashes, tripods, lenses, cameras and freeride/downhill MTB's and went for a session at a secret location on Hisingen Island. A great morning, great riders and some good photos.

At last! My internet connection has been down for several days but it is up and running again. Right now I have been working on several projects and one of my new projects includes everything from photography to logo designs for "Augustin Fastigheter AB". I also have one of my truly best friends, Mats Christensén visiting me.

[ 2009..05..12 ]

The weather has switched from rain to sunshine and finally I got some time to shoot with Jon Lindgren. Altought his time were extremely limited and he had a long day together with another photographer from the magazine "Outside" the day before, he performed as a real pro should. We only had time to shoot on one location, but we will return to the same area in a near future to get all the other images that we didn't have any time for.

Big thanks to Jon - a great person and even better mountainbiker!

- Niclas.

[ 2009..05..08 ]

ACTEA Consulting is a client that I have been working with for two years now. Today I took some photos of the staff and it is always a great place to visit. For a while now I have been planing to take some photos together with mountainbiker Jon Lindgren. We have checked out these great spot and we were about to hit it yesterday. However, mother nature has a thing for us and the rain just keeps on coming. As so many times before we have needed to cancel the shoot and wait a couple of days.....

[ 2009..05..07 ]

Niclas gets the cover shot on the latest issue (#4 2009) of the Swedish fly fishing magazine "Allt Om Flugfiske" (Everything About Fly Fishing). The photo is from Denmark and Niclas also has an article about searun browntrout in the same issue.

[ 2009..05..05 ]

Two days ago, I had planned to shoot some images together with skateboarder Daniel Blasko. So, I brought three flashguns, lenses from 15 mm fisheye to 200 mm and PW's, softboxes and alot of other stuff. Guess what? Daniel warmed up and I took no more and no less then 3 images during this time. And as we were about to turn up the heat, mother nature decided to open up the sky over us. Ten seconds later and it was showering!

Niclas.

[ 2009..04..30 ]

I have, for a while, been thinking about sending in some images to SCANPIX "Stora fotopris 2009". A competition where you should show what Sweden looks like, feels like, smells like, what Sweden is today. Last year (2008) Lars Tunbjörk took home the first prize with is extraordinary images in the collection "Vinter". As I start to think about how Sweden looks like today in my viewfinder, alot of time will be spent on getting more images uploaded to NordicPhotos.

[ 2009..04..28 ]

Another session with Contra and alot of creative thinking in order to get some new images to upload to NordicPhotos. Niclas has also starting to plan for some upcoming trips, including Belize were he is going to make the final shots for the upcoming saltwater flyfishing DVD.

[ 2009..04..24 ]

Niclas have been out with PRO downhill / freeride mountainbiker Jon to check out a spot for an upcoming photo session. Everything has been planed in detail. Niclas will, among many things, rig three wireless flashguns and use everything from a 15mm fisheye lens to the 300 f/2.8 in order to get the different images planned. Be sure to check out the [ Latest News ] in a near future in order to see some of the images.

Contra - the story of the angry boy.

During a photo session this weekend together with the music group Contra, Niclas and his assistants ended up being attacked by a teenage boy. As they were shooting photos on "Andra Långgatan" in Gothenburg, Sweden, a young teenage boy alone on a bike passed by and out of nowhere he jump off the bike, came running towards the singer of the group and kicked him in the side. And it did not stop there. The young boy was extremely aggresive, screaming, kicking and hiting lightpoles and streetsigns. Several times he came up close ready to start a fight. On one occasion he took up his bike from the ground, held it up over his head and was ready to throw it! It was crazy. Soon enough the angry youngster took his bike and started going down the street. It did not take long before his anger was aimed at someone else. It just might be so that Contra's upcoming EP will be called "what happened to the angry boy?". However, The band did get the images they wanted, including a back and front cover for the upcoming EP. You can find out more about the band by visiting www.myspace.com/contrasweden
